Make Today an Adventure

We know life can be crazy sometimes, but we also know that it’s crazy not to take advantage of every moment we’re given. This summer we vow to spend more time outdoors and do our best to make every day an adventure.

This post is brought to you by Bar Dog wines. Find a bottle near you or shop online today!

Wherever that adventure takes you, Bar Dog  wines wants you to capture the action in a photo and help them discover America’s Best Bar Dog. Upload a photo of your pup and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a Bark Box subscription and other goodies from Bar Dog wines. Enter today!

Here are five ideas to make today and every day an adventure:

Dog at Cosentino Tasting Room

1. Visit a winery or brewery

More and more establishments with outdoor entertaining areas are allowing us to bring our pets along for the fun. Call your favorite spot, or a new place you’re wanting to visit and ask if they’re pet friendly before you pack up your pooch. Or check out this list of our favorite dog-friendly wineries in California.

2. Take a hike

Grab your backpack, fill it up with plenty of water and snacks, then hit the trail. Make the most of the summer and explore somewhere new. Treat yourself with a glass of wine after!

3. Hit the road

We love a good road trip. Having to stop every few hours for you and your dog to stretch is made even better when the scenery is gorgeous. Check out our recent post about exploring California’s Central Coast the next time you feel the urge to hit the road. If you can’t make it out to California, we hope it inspires you to find adventure wherever you call home.

4. Host a dog-friendly barbecue

Call up your friends and invite them over for a pet-friendly barbecue. Bar Dog wines recently celebrated the beginning of summer with a selection of fancy “Haute Dogs” to impress your guests.

Don’t forget to check out these tips for entertaining outdoors like a pro.

5. Make summertime treats

When the weather isn’t cooperating, stay inside and whip up a batch of homemade dog treats. Pour a glass of Bar Dog wine for yourself and use one of our favorite recipes to spoil your pup like the royalty they are.

Make today an adventure with Bar Dog Wines

Don’t have a pet? Make today an adventure for an animal in need by visiting your local shelter. Check their website or give them a call to ask about volunteer positions and where they need help. Creating an adventure for a shelter dog could be as simple as taking them for a walk around the block.

This year Bar Dog wines is working with and donating to Wine Country Animal Lovers in Napa Valley and the Dogwood Animal Rescue Project in Santa Rosa. Consider making a donation to your local animal rescue or volunteering your time.
