Sweet Mother’s Day Treats

For Mother’s Day, treat your Mom to some homemade sweet delights made with her favorite wine. Here are some of our favorite recipes made with Middle Sister Sweet & Sassy Moscato.

MOSCATO SWEET TEA

Make a pot of strong black tea. Refrigerate until chilled. Pour into a large pitcher with a bottle of chilled Sweet & Sassy Moscato. Add ice, lemon slices and garnish with mint. Kick back with your Mom and reminisce about your childhood.

MOSCATO POACHED PEACHES

1 Bottle of Middle Sister Sweet & Sassy Moscato
2 3″ long strips of lemon zest, julienned
8 peaches, halved and pitted

In a medium saucepan, combine the wine and lemon zest and bring to a boil. Add the peaches and simmer over low heat until tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a large glass dish and let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate until lightly chilled. Serve the peaches in the wine, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

SWEET & SASSY MOSCATO SANGRIA

1 bottle of Sweet & Sassy Moscato
½ cup orange liqueur (like Triple-Sec)
1 liter Club Soda
1 Peach, sliced
1 Apple, sliced
1 Orange, unpeeled and sliced
1 Lemon, unpeeled and sliced
Strawberries, blueberries and any other local, seasonal fruits
Fresh mint for garnish

Pour Sweet & Sassy Moscato into a large pitcher along with the liqueur and club soda. Add the fruit. Let the flavors mingle for a few hours. Pour into a tall glass filled with ice and top with a bit of mint.

STRAWBERRY MOSCATO CUPCAKES

1 box strawberry cake mix
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 1/3 cups of Middle Sister Sweet & Sassy Moscato
3 eggs
1 16oz. container of vanilla frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix together the cake mix, yogurt, wine and eggs until smooth. Spoon into cupcake pan with liners and bake for 18-24 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cupcakes cool completely. Add 1 tablespoon of Moscato and red food coloring to the icing. Pipe the icing onto the cupcakes.
