Game Day Sandwich Battle: Philly Cheesesteak vs. Lobster Roll

Game Day Sandwich Battle: Philly Cheesesteak vs. Lobster Roll

It’s a BIG football weekend! Lines are drawn, sides are taken, but there’s still one thing left to be decided… what’s on the menu?

While two of football’s best teams duke it out on the field, we’ll be hosting our own battle in the kitchen. It’s going to be a game day sandwich battle between two classics, the Philly Cheesesteak and the New England Lobster Roll.

Which sandwich will take home the title of champion? We’ll let you decide.

Here are a couple of decadent sandwich recipes to try this weekend. And don’t forget the wine!

Philly Cheesesteak

Is it possible to say “cheesesteak” without “Philly” in front of it? Our resident Philly fan says, “absolutely not.” We’re loving this Easy Philly Cheesesteak recipe from I Am a Food Blog that takes less than 30 minutes to pull together. If you came here looking for a last-minute game day food idea, you’ve just struck gold. With a combo of provolone AND American cheese, it brings all the flavor and all the melty delicousness a proper cheesesteak calls for.

Bar Dog for Game Day

Pair this sandwich with another game day favorite, Bar Dog Cabernet. (Shop online or find it near you.)

Or try it with birthday girl, Middle Sister Goodie Two-Shoes Pinot Noir.  (Shop online or find it near you.)

New England Lobster Roll

And for those cheering on the team hailing from New England, we present the iconic Lobster Roll. Special occasions call for lobster, and this weekend is no exception. We’re working with this New England Lobster Roll recipe from A Family Feast and can’t wait to dig in on Sunday. Their tip: keep it simple.

Serve the final product with a glass of Middle Sister Smarty Pants Chardonnay. (Shop online or find it near you.)

Girl & Dragon for Game Day

Or opt for a fierce glass of Girl & Dragon Pinot Grigio. (Shop online or find it near you.)

Cheers to the weekend, Wine Sisters!
