2017 Holiday Movie & Wine Pairings

We had so much fun putting together our 2016 Holiday Movie & Wine Pairings that we’ve decided to make it a yearly tradition. So, without further ado, let’s cuddle up on the couch with a glass or two of wine and enjoy!

A Christmas Prince

According to Netflix, some people really liked it – over and over again. NETFLIX took to Twitter with a snarky “To the 53 people who’ve watched A Christmas Prince every day for the past 18 days: Who hurt you?” The remark set off a Tweet storm that alternated between amusement and scorn…stop shaming your own viewers, how much more do you know about my personal habits and hey everyone, lighten up! None of this brouhaha had anything to do with the actual film. If you’re curious, pop open a nice bottle of Girl & Dragon Pinot Grigio and imagine the prince slaying a dragon for you!

Charlie Brown Christmas

In honor of Snoopy we recommend Bar Dog Cab. This movie is an old favorite – sweet, dependable and cozy – the same qualities that every dog owner receives from their faithful dog.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

One year after Kevin was left home alone and had to defeat a pair of bumbling burglars, he accidentally finds himself in New York City, and the same criminals are not far behind.

The plot is a whirlwind of mischief, mishaps and mayhem. Middle Sister’s Rebel Red Winemaker’s Blend is a natural choice.

The Holiday

Two women with guy-problems swap homes in each other’s countries, where they each meet a local guy and fall in love. Tall Dark Stranger Malbec pairs perfectly with this romantic movie about falling in love with a stranger.

Elf

After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity. The ultimate Christmas movie!

We would pair Elf with Middle Sister Sweet & Sassy Moscato. It’s a sweet, luscious wine and we’re sure Buddy would love it!

A Christmas Story

It’s 1940, in northern Indiana. 9-year-old Ralphie wants only one thing for Christmas — an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model BB rifle with a compass in the stock. The movie even includes a scene where Ralphie imagines himself the town sherif shootin’ up the bad guys! Purple Cowboy is the perfect pairing!
