Sandwiches and Wine Pairings for Hot Summer Nights

Too hot to turn on the oven? Make these upscale sandwiches for dinner! We’ve gathered some recipes from our favorite food bloggers!

MEDDITERRANEAN TURKEY HUMMUS PANINI
(From Julia at “A Cedar Spoon”)
Pair with Goodie Two-shoes Pinot Noir

Goodie Two-shoes Pinot Noir is the perfect summer time red. This is no ordinary panini. Goodie Two-shoes stands up to the layers of flavors of this delicious sandwich. If it’s super-hot outside, try chilling the bottle down in an ice bucket before serving. True story, chilled reds in summer are a thing!

SOUTHWESTERN TUNA MELT
(From Ari at “Ari’s Menu”)
Pair with Drama Queen Pinot Grigio

Drama Queen Pinot Grigio is terrific with tuna and all kinds of seafood. This sammie is picture perfect gooey pepper jack cheese that’s melted on top. A little bit spicy, a lively, crisp white wine like Drama Queen is an outstanding pairing.

MANGO CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH
(From Lindsey at “Pinch of Yum”)
Pair with Sweet & Sassy Moscato

The slight sweetness that the mango brings to this chicken salad is a perfect complement to the fruity notes of Sweet & Sassy Moscato. Lindsey had tons of wonderful recipes on her blog. Enjoy!

Why is a plural (panini) used instead of a singular (panino = small bap)?

Thanks for pointing that out Tanja! Please excuse our poor Italian.
