Tips for Hosting an “Outlander” Viewing Party

Tips for Hosting an "Outlander" Viewing Party

The Starz Original Series Outlander premiere is on Saturday, August 9. Of course, this calls for a party! (If you haven’t signed up to host your own #Outlander #WineSister Viewing Party yet, you can do that here.)

After the dust settles, send us photos from your viewing party to winesisterhood@gmail.com with “Outlander Party” in the subject line. We’d love to share the fun you had on our blog and across our social networks. We may surprise you with an Outlander or Wine Sister goodie to say thanks!

Jamie from Stars original series "Outlander"

It’s on a Saturday and Jamie Fraser’s character will be lookin’ good (trust us, we’ve seen the preview), do we really need more reasons to get together to watch? We think not. Ladies, get ready to party like it’s 1743.

Here are our tips for pulling off the most “Sassenach” party on the block:

Pull out the plaid

And anything earthy – we’re thinking burlap, leather, wood. Set the scene for your party and make it feel like your table just landed in 18th-century Scotland.

Serve a fitting wine

Girl & Dragon Malbec – fierce and fearless.

Wine Sisterhood Courageous Cabernet – beautiful, elegant, classic.

Middle Sister Blushing Beauty Rosé –  for all of those swoon-worthy shirtless Jamie moments.

Make the perfect cocktail

Toast to Claire’s superior nursing skills with the Penicillin. Or lighten things up with a Lagohaire Whisky Sour, from the Outlander Kitchen. (We recommend Whiskey Sister for this recipe, she’s from the States, but she’ll do the trick!)

Invite a lad named Jamie

Cheers to you if you can get him to show up in person! If he turns out to be busy, here’s our idea: print out a Pocket Jamie, cut him out and bring him with you when you’re shopping for wine, planning menus, cooking, hanging out on the couch… Share your photos with us on our Facebook Page or on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest with both the #winesister and #Outlander hashtags.

Now, make sure you head on over the the #Outlander #WineSister Viewing Party RSVP page to tell us that you’d like to host a party.

We’re pulling winners at random from the Party Hosting Sign Up List to win a special #Outlander #Winesister Viewing Party Kit including fabulous items from our Wine Sisterhood Shop and must-have Outlander goodies.

Can’t wait for the kilt to drop!

LOVE IT! I didn’t realize a pocketsize Jamie was available! You do realize you can watch the first episode now, right? It’s a free preview, downloadable from STARZ. It’s AMAZING!!!

We agree, Carol! Watched the first episode online and it was SO good. This season is going to ROCK! Of course, we’ll still be celebrating this Saturday for the “official” premiere. Have you RSVPed yet? http://bit.ly/outlanderpartyrsvp
