The Perfect Fourth of July in Napa, Wine Sisterhood Style
With all the traveling we’ve been up to, we’re ready to stay put for a weekend or two. And it just so happens next Friday is the Fourth of July! We’re so looking forward to a well-earned day off spent with family, friends and some tasty treats off the grill.
Recipe for the perfect 4th of July in Napa Valley:
The Morning: Hit the St. Helena Farmer’s Market for last-minute fruit, veggies and Long Meadow Ranch beef for our BBQ later in the day. Grab a breakfast sandwich at Model Bakery – world famous for their homemade English muffins.
The Afternoon: Head in to downtown Napa for the 4th of July Parade on Main Street. We’ll grab a seat at Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater on the riverfront to watch the celebration roll through town.
The Evening: Host family, friends and fellow Wine Sisters for a backyard grill out. Chill the wine, light the tiki torches and turn up the music – it’s time to celebrate!
The Menu:
Grilled Fruit – our new favorite summer treat! Try it as a side with a balsamic glaze or for dessert with some ice cream.
Mexican Street Corn Salad –
Herbed Grilled Chicken Wings – no forks or knives needed.
Fresh Cherry Turnovers – with cherries from Wine Sister Natalie’s family farm.
The Fireworks: Luckily in Napa Valley we have a wide choice of where to watch fireworks light up the sky.
Mary Ann (@mavelicious) will enjoy them at the Napa County Fairgrounds for the “Fireworks Spectacular”. Natalie (@girlinthevalley) plans on watching them in St. Helena at Farmstead.
Simple as that! Wishing you a fantastic Fourth of July!
