Throughout Women’s History Month, Tanji is introducing us to incredible women across her home state of Texas who are following their dreams in the culinary world.

Rebecca Masson, Pastry Chef aka. Houston’s Sugar Fairy

Rebecca Masson is the leader of the #FluffernutterRevolution – on a mission to bring her famous, creamy peanut butter Fluffernutters to a home near you. She’s an accomplished pastry chef, with a resume that includes formal training at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, working in the prestigious kitchens at Daniel Boulud’s “Daniel” restaurant in Manhattan and a recent appearance on Bravo’s Top Chef: Just Desserts!

Blanca Aldaco has been the chef, owner and operator for more than 25 years of her Mexican restaurant, Aldaco’s Stone Oak. She’s known across the San Antonio area for her award-winning margaritas and delicious interior Mexican food. Her restaurants meld traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex tastes that are predominant in the San Antonio area. All of her dishes are made from scratch, fresh and in-house. Jessica Maher and her husband Todd Duplechan opened LENOIR in Austin, TX, with two big goals in mind: to help build a strong culinary community and to redefine Austin’s food style. And they’re doing it all with a growing family. Their dishes are built on their “hot weather” food concept, serving food that makes sense with the dry Texas climate and adapts as the seasons change. Stop in and you’ll find dishes made with with pork, quail and rabbit. On special occasions, you may see wild boar, antelope and even goat on the menu.
