Supper Club: Wine Sisterhood Style
Hey Wine Sisters!
One of our 2014 resolutions is to prepare more home-cooked meals for family, friends or just to enjoy ourselves with a great glass of wine! We want to challenge our Wine Sisters to do the same, so we created the Wine Sisterhood Supper Club! A monthly challenge to inspire you to get in the kitchen and make some magic happen.
Each month will have a theme and inspirational cookbook. Keep in mind, the cookbook is not necessary to enter the challenge, it is just there for inspiration. Details below.
The Cookbooks: All written by inspirational female chefs, bloggers and food industry professionals.
The Challenge: Cook up an inspired recipe at home that fits our monthly theme, then snap a mouth-watering photo. Upload the photo to Instagram with @winesisterhood and the hashtag #WSSupperClub in your caption. When you upload a picture, your image could be featured on winesisterhood.com.
For this month’s challenge, remember to also tag our Supper Club author @MariaSpeck!
Here’s what we are cooking up in January:
The Cookbook: Ancient Grains for Modern Meals by Maria Speck. This cookbook has garnered many awards over the past two years, including the 2012 IACP Julia Child Award for First Book and Health & Special Diet Award. We think it is great because Maria’s passion for Old World staples can be added to the ingredient list for a modern day cook. And of course the book helps to integrate whole grains into their busy lives. You can also reference Maria’s blog for more inspiration.
We got in touch with Maria who recommends these favorite recipes from her cookbook:
Artichoke Rosemary Tart with a Polenta Crust
Greek Millet Saganaki with Shrimp and Ouzo
Mediterranean Mussels with Farro and White Wine
Wheat Berry Fools with Grand Marnier Figs
Can’t wait to see what you get cooking up in your kitchens!!!
