Put a Twibbon on it for Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink ribbons are everywhere.

One of our favorite breast cancer charities, the Wrangler Tough  Enough To Wear Pink campaign, has launched a new way to wear your pink ribbon of support–on your social media profile pic! It’s called a “twibbon”. Get yours here and share with your family and friends on FB and Twitter.

In 2004, Wrangler Western Wear helped launch the Tough Enough To Wear Pink Campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Since its inception, TETWP has raised more than $9.75 million across the U.S. and Canada, through rodeo fundraising events, proceeds from Wrangler TETWP merchandise and support from our wine brand,Purple Cowboy, the official wine sponsor of Tough Enough to Wear Pink and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

Wrangler started the twibbon campaign to spread the word about TETWP in social media. It’s easy and fun. Just click on the link which will take you to the twibbon page and follow the easy instructions for adding a pink ribbon to your profile page. Hey, and pass it along!

The breast cancer cause is close to the Wine Sisterhood. Our founder and boss lady Terry is a breast cancer survivor, as is her mother. Terry’s grandmother passed away from the disease. Terry’s daughter Katie, is closely monitored due to her family history and tells her personal story on the TETWP website (Katie is Executive Director of the organization).

Terry was co-founder with Wrangler of TETWP. She came up with the idea of having the world’s top professional rodeo cowboys (and girls) at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo wear pink one night to raise awareness about breast cancer within the western community. Today, you’ll see collegiate and professional sports teams, including the NFL, sporting pink in October in support of the cause.
