Toast to Harvest!

Toast to Harvest

Harvest is here and California wine country is buzzing. If you ever have a chance to travel to Napa or Sonoma during harvest season, you’ll find skilled workers busy clipping grape clusters off the vine by hand, watch giant bins of grapes being loaded onto trucks, and hear talk of winery parties all around.

It’s a time to celebrate the hard work that’s been happening throughout the growing season. And what better way to celebrate than with some food and wine?

Girl & Dragon wines make a fantastic addition to any harvest table. With three varietals – Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Pinot Grigio – there’s a delicious pairing with every dish.

This week we’ve rounded up three recipes that will make your harvest party guests swoon. Cheers!

Braised Leg of Lamb with Girl & Dragon Cabernet Sauvignon

This recipe for “perfect fall-off-the-bone tender” braised lamb From Sweeet C’s is so impressive, your guests will never know it’s such a simple one pot meal.  Scale this recipe up or down, depending on the size of your party or the need for leftovers.

Girl & Dragon Cabernet

Pair this recipe with a bold bottle of Girl & Dragon Cabernet Sauvignon (find a bottle near you or shop online).

Recipe with mussels, shellfish, crab, shrimp and tomato broth, gluten-free and seasonal

Cioppino with Girl & Dragon Pinot Grigio

Invented by Italian San Francisco fishermen, Cioppino is a seafood stew that was designed to feed a crowd. It’s a dish that manages to both comfort and impress dinner party guests. Party tip: don’t forget to put out a dish to collect the mussel shells, and tiny forks to help pull the meat out of the shells.

Girl & Dragon Pinot Grigio

Cioppino pairs beautifully with a crisp white wine like Girl & Dragon Pinot Grigio (find a bottle near you or shop online).

Shredded Beef with Girl & Dragon Malbec:

Four ingredients are all you’ll need to perfect this recipe for Shredded Beef from Oh, Sweet Basil. Use the finished product for tacos, burrito bowls or sandwiches (save the juice for a side of au jus!).

Grilling with Girl & Dragon Malbec

Complete this harvest party meal with a glass of Girl & Dragon Malbec (find a bottle near you or shop online).
