Get Outside with Girl & Dragon

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

The weather is warming up outside and one important question is on our minds: how best can we use our vacation time this summer? Because we’re also working on getting outside more this year, we’re planning on using most of that vacation time outside.

It’s well known that one of the best rewards for a great day spent outdoors is a fabulous glass of wine. When it comes to toasting after our bold, outdoorsy activities are finished, our favorite wine to reach for is Girl & Dragon. Girl & Dragon Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Pinot Grigio are all great additions to the end of your active day outside.

Shop Girl & Dragon wines online or find wines near you.

Channeling Girl & Dragon’s motto, “Go forth. Be fearless.” we bring you our best ideas for getting outside with your girlfriends this summer:

Join a group. Find a women’s group in your area that connects women who want to explore and share experiences in the great oudoors. Some of our favorites with chapters across the country include Bold Betties, Outdoor Women’s Alliance, and Hike Like a Woman. But a simple Google search may turn up more organizations in your area.

Plan a trip. And not just any old trip. Plan a trip that is focused on getting you and your friends outside. Resources we love: women’s trips through REI Adventures, “Sister Trips” with Sisters of the Fly, Glamping.com, and Adventure Women. But again, search online for local groups and others that fit what you’re looking for.

Adventure close to home. Plan a weekend getaway with friends to your favorite state or national park. Don’t have all the gear to go camping? Many outdoor shops, like REI have rental programs where you can borrow what you need. Or, find a hotel or AirBnb that gives you easy access to the park you’re planning on exploring.

Afternoon adventures. Adventure doesn’t always need a big time investment. Call up a Wine Sister and plan a fun afternoon of adventure. Sign up for a class at your local rock climbing gym, hike a local trail you’ve never explored before (check AllTrails for ideas), try goat yoga (yes, it’s a real thing!), or simply plan a backyard bonfire.

Girl & Dragon: Play with Fire!

So, go ahead, invite your Wine Sisters over, open a bottle of Girl & Dragon and start planning your next adventure. Remember, it all starts with a sip!
