In honor of National Moscato Day on May 9^th let’s start planning for summer with my tips for a glorious vacation…where to go, what to drink and what to read.

Where should we go? I suggest somewhere on the water where we can eat some hot spicy food. Think Miami Beach, San Diego, The Gulf Coast. I pair really great with Mexican, Thai, Cuban or Indian food! I usually go straight to a mobile app on my phone to find the best spicy foods wherever I am. Maybe I should have been called Sweet and Spicy!

So, we’ve figured out our destination. We’ll make a refreshing sangria first thing in the morning so it’s ready by wine o’clock. What’s really fun about making sangria on vacation is that we’ll have to go to a local market for fresh produce. If we can’t find a farmer’s market, a local grocery can be fun too. Meet the locals and check out the foods. I love adventures!

Sweet & Sassy Moscato Sangria

1 bottle of Sweet & Sassy Moscato
½ cup orange liqueur (like Triple-Sec)
1 liter Club Soda
1 Peach, sliced
1 Apple, sliced
1 Orange, unpeeled and sliced
1 Lemon, unpeeled and sliced
Strawberries, blueberries and any other local, seasonal fruits
Fresh mint for garnish

Pour me into a large pitcher along with the liqueur and club soda. Add the fruit. Let us mingle…get to know each other for a few hours, after all, we’re on vacation too! Pour us into a tall glass and top with a bit of mint to make us look gorgeous. We girls like our accessories!

I think we need a good summer read to really relax. Nothing too serious, nothing sad. Here are a few of suggestions.
