Holiday Road Trip Survival Guide

[URISP id=7131]

Happy holidays, friends! Like many of you, many on our team our getting ready to hop in the car and drive to visit family and friends. While we can’t cut hours off of your drive time, we can provide you with ideas that will help you pass the time with ease.

Here are our top 5 things to make your road trip as smooth as possible:

Road Trip Survival Guide: Snacks

1. Something to snack on.

  • Here are our favorites:
  • Clementines (bonus: free air freshener!)
  • Almonds
  • Dried fruit mix
  • Dark chocolate (100% necessary)
  • String cheese
  • Crackers
  • High-quality jerky

Road Trip Survival Guide: Sassy Water

2. Something to drink during the ride (non-alcoholic).

Being hydrated helps you stay happy, healthy and keeps your skin looking great once you arrive. Make a batch of “sassy water” before your trip. What is “sassy water” you ask? Think of your favorite spa and recreate the fabulous water they served you. Cut up your favorite fruits and veggies (think oranges, lemons, cucumber, fresh mint, cranberries, etc.), put them to a pitcher and add water. Fill up water bottles before you leave. Simple as that!

Road Trip Survival Guide: Podcasts

3. Something to listen to.

Podcasts are one of the best ways to pass the time and learn something new while you’re driving or hanging out in the passenger seat. We polled our team to find out their favorites:

Middle Sister 2017 Coloring Calendar

4. Something to keep everyone busy.

One word: coloring! Stop by the bookstore and pick up some fantastic new coloring books. Have a little more time to prep? Stop by our retail shop and pick up a few Middle Sister 2017 Coloring Calendars. Contest idea: who can color all 12 months before the end of your drive? Go!

Wine Sisterhood 2016 Holiday Gift Guide

5. Something to drink once you get there.

Now here’s our real area of expertise… wine. Tip: you’ve got enough to worry about, plan ahead and send wine to your destination. It will be one less thing for you to worry about packing and your loved ones can have an open bottle waiting for you when you pull into the driveway. It’s a win-win all around. (Remember: order wine by 12/15 to ensure delivery by 12/25!)

Need a special gift idea for the folks you’re visiting? Give the gift of wine all year round with the Wine Sisterhood Wine Club. They’ll be thanking you with every quarterly shipment!
