Early Fall Wine Country Wedding Decor

In early autumn, wedding décor takes a beautiful turn for the cozy. The weather might still be hot during the day, but temperatures drop at night. In wine country, harvest is beginning, with lush purple grapes and gold leaves inspiring the colors of the season. We’ve collected some inspiration for an early fall wedding, through our wine country lens.

Early Fall Wine Country Colors

Early autumn is the perfect time of year to mix metallics in with your wedding palette. And happily enough, metallic spray paint is inexpensive. Cream and gold are modern neutrals for wedding décor that pair beautifully with the deep reds and plums of the season.

Don’t feel like you’re stuck with only burnt oranges and reds, a great color palate that keeps your wedding modern mixes rich jewel tones with like a rich purple, and a light pink.  As well, natural materials like twine, burlap and brown Kraft paper are inexpensive and just right for the season.

Autumn Bouquets

Use fruit and berries like rosehips, crab apples or berries in autumn wedding bouquets – are a gorgeous way to usher in fall. Red and dark yellow ranunculus with pink garden roses bring that modern autumn color story to life.

Something about the cooler weather allows us to reveal a little more drama. We love the statement these purple black blooms could bring to an early fall wedding.

Wine Country Fall Food

As summer turns to fall our wedding food thoughts turn once again to rich, red wines. Monogamy Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with the dishes of harvest such as risotto, roasts and butternut squash.

Caramel apples make a gorgeous favor – both cost effective and in line with the season. As well, cider can be a perfect representation of your fall theme- serve it hot or cold, a hard cider on tap for guests can provide the perfect serving of fall.

Autumn flavors for a wedding menu can be richer than summer’s light fare. Consider a rich risotto, butternut squash soup and fruits like figs and apples to bring the flavors of the season into your wedding menu. Apple cider donuts are a surprising treat for the end of the night.

Fall Decor in Wine Country

Acorns, leaves and small pumpkins are another inexpensive way to bring autumn décor to your wedding.  Especially in wine country, early fall is harvest season. There’s a huge number of decorating options available that are inspired by the fruits of the season. In California’s wine country, we’re inspired by figs, grapes, apples and squash.

Fall doesn’t have to be represented too literally. This modern black altar brings the feeling of fall in a way that’s modern and fresh.

Incorporating the rough edges and dark colors of wood brings a harvest feel to your wedding décor. Use inexpensive leaves, grapevines and birch to create a feel inspired by nature herself.
