Outdoor entertaining ideas for a Wine Sister Labor Day

Happy Labor Day Weekend

The long, hot days of summer will soon be coming to an end. Before we know it, the temperatures will drop, the leaves will turn and fall will be here. BUT, there’s still one last chance to bring friends and family together outdoors to celebrate the unofficial end of the season – Labor Day weekend!

Here are some ideas to celebrate this Labor Day weekend in Wine Sisterhood style:

Award Winning ChiliAward winning chili – Impress your friends with a new chili recipe or side dish from the recipes in our 2012 Bocce Chili Cookoff blog post. The lamb and chorizo chili is a Wine Sister favorite!

Watermelon punch bowl – Think twice about throwing that watermelon rind away! Turn it into a fun and clever punch bowl. And here’s a simple recipe from Martha Stewart that puts the fruit you scoop out of it to good use.

Portable wine clutch – Finally… a bag that’s fashionable and functional! Pack up a stylish and sturdy bag like this cute purple clutch with your favorite bottle of Wine Sisterhood Wine and head out to wherever your Labor Day festivities may take you.

Summer Sangria RecipesSangria – Along with that watermelon punch, why not stir up a little sangria from our recent blog post. Middle Sister Sweetie Pie shared several new sangria recipes on the Middle Sister blog, too!

GoVino unbreakable cups – These reusable, recylable, shatter-proof wine glasses are wonderful for entertaining outdoors or packing up for a camping trip. Use the locator on their website to find out what retailers sell them in your area.

Drink-U-Lator AppBuy just the right amount – Use our handy Drink-U-Lator when you’re planning to have people over, or helping a friend plan for a party. Download the app to your smartphone, enter the number of people who will be there and what beverages people prefer and it will estimate the wine, beer and spirits you’ll need. Makes guesstimating a cinch!

Wishing you a happy and delicious Labor Day weekend – from all of us at the Wine Sisterhood!
